I watched the ILOG Elixir session at MAX this morning on AdobeTV. It is really great to see how far ILOG has come with their component set. I met the ILOG team at the Component Developer Summit in 2006 and they were just exploring Flex as a medium for their state of the art components. They have spend the past few years bringing their knowledge to the Flex component developer community and their work really stands out. Make sure to check out the heatmap component at 35:00 minutes into the presentation.Ted on Twitter - @AdobeTed

I really hope that some more companies pop up with commercial Flex components. Otherwise we might see developers go the Silverlight direction. Silverlight developers can already choose from ComponentArt, Telerik, DevExpress, ComponentOne and probably some others. Flex has ILOG, Doug McCunes creations (luckily we have him) and ... ?? Hopefully we see a new era in the Flex component situation when Flex 4 is released. A status quo compared to Flex 3 is not acceptable! Feel free to contact me in case you think all components are already in Flex 3 :)
What you've done putting the videos online for everybody to watch is just awesome. Definitely it'll help to build better apps worldwide. Thank you guys, I can't express how thankful I am. Thanks, keep on creating great tools that help us create even better apps.
Thx Ted
I covered both ILOG Elixir 1.0 & 2.0 during this presentation.

Couldn't agree more as for the cry for more 3rd party Flex components, Flex 3 is more then good enough to have a healthy community. Coming from a .NET background it's very weird not having any real 3rd party options for any of Adobes out of the box controls.
ILOG Elixir Technical session is now also available on Adobe TV. See:
