FlashCamp SF 2008 - Remapping the Election with Indy Hurt and Kailen Wright

This applications uses data from the CNN Electoral Map Calculator website, the US Census Bureau, and data obtained from Karl Grossner - UCSB graduate student at UCSB.
The ap give the user the ability to see the US states scaled in size based on electoral maps. This cartographic technique is known as a cartogram. Additionally, states can be clicked to display state name, total population, number of speeches per candidate and dollar amount of ad campaign spending per state.

Cheers,

ted :)

    Ted,
Thank you so much for featuring our map on your blog. We recently updated it to reflect the election results. Missouri hasn't called it yet, but I gave the state to McCain given the current numbers. We also switched from speeches to appearances with the help of Karl Grossner's database. Here's a link to the map: http://www.geog.ucsb.edu/~indy/gis/eVote.html
