DIGG IT!     2 Comments Published Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at 1:12 PM .

An introductory presentation on creating Flex Components. This is the complete beginner's guide to building components. The use of components are the lifeblood to application maintenance. This will teach you enough to "get by" for application specific components, but will also extend to give you the details you need for more Extensible and reusable components.
We'll talk about MXML components,ActionScript Components, and how to use the component lifecycle to your full advantage.

Cheers,

ted :)

Man! I usually really like your work but this one is painful. I appreciate that you share this with us, but please put up a warning: 2 minutes worth of content spread over an hour. And because you are having lots of discussions with your audience and we can only hear you, it makes it really long.... This could be a sweet 5 minutes presentation or even just a few paragraphs of text and code. But, what the heck, most of your posts are fantastic!

    Regis,

I just saw your comment now because someone directed me to it.

I'm not sure if your post refers to myself [the presenter] or Ted [The Adobe guy who runs the blog you're commenting on].

The presentation was developed to be an in-person presentation with lots of back and forth between the audience. In that regards it was very successful. I believe it is the best presentation I have given to date.

That said, I tend to agree with you. This didn't translate very well to the 'video' format.
