Searchme.com - Flex Application with $31M in funding

The team over at Searchme.com has been busy. I last ran into Searchme at the first FlexCamp in San Francisco. They had a recruiter parked outside of Adobe that evening handing out job fliers for the start-up. Looks like they got themselves some good developers because the application looks great.

cheers,

Ted :)

Anyone from Google reading it? Here is my offer - for mere 3% for application development you can have client portion of this application.
Realistically, if more sites go RIA it might be much faster way to "preview" look and feel of the site - can be useful for some people. And realistically can be less expensive then cached HTML now (still needed).

Server side of this is serious stuff though - might take awhile to develop efficient renderer. I wonder if farm of AIR apps on linux is an option.

Server side is going to be real challenge. I wonder if anyone tried it on farm of linux servers running AIR app to capture the image - and compare it to other solutions.

31M in funding? Talk about barriers to entry! Good luck recouping that searchme.com

That's assuming they've spent the whole 31 large to get this far. Maybe they only need to pay back 28.8M - child's play!

I wonder, what makes you think more than 3% went to development in the first place?

Also, via Searchme's own PR, it's not just their own developers they have to thank.
