Flex 3.0 and AIR 1.0 are days away...

It is a matter of days until the release of Flex 3.0 and Adobe AIR 1.0. I am working all weekend on launch preparation and the Engage 2008 event in San Francisco. In advance I made some changes to my blog, they are hard to miss. The banner will point to the trial download for Flex Builder 3 and Flex 3 SDK seconds after the bits are available at Adobe.com. I will also blog when everything is posted.

Again we are days away from Flex 3.0 and AIR 1.0. I am very excited about the release as it looks to be spot on perfect. The Flex SDK, AIR, and Flex Builder enhancements really make this a killer release. I cannot wait to see what you make with it.

See you at launch!

Ted :)

Your blog looks like a death notice now... honestly :P

And that's not really the purpose, is it? Mourning about the fate of good old FB2 seems bit late - everybody uses Beta 3 now ;) Come on, more color, I'd like to have a big release party here!

    Anyway - good news :D

Oh this is gonna be cool :) Beta has been excellent.

The release is far better. :)

    I'm excited! :)

I suppose that Flex Builder developers have fixed compiler bugs, improve stability and have made IDE just a normal!!!, not a perfect (in my dreams only)... Cause Flex Builder 3 Beta 3 doesn't show me the progress in stability from Flex 2 just new, new, new features...

Looking to placing my order soon!

Looking forward to spending many many hours with the final release. :)

But it looks like Verisign AIR code certs are still not yet available :(

I was really hoping they come out sooner with this, like Thawte did, so I'd get a chance to apply for certs before AIR release to be ready for 1.0 gold. But it looks like our proper signed AIR apps will need to wait for a few weeks at least now.

Good news. I'd like to know the final differences in details between standard and pro version. Mainly I will buy a FB3 myself for Flash projects at home...

I'm with @thomas: the banner could use a splash of color. I dunno. Isn't there some designer at Adobe who could knock something out in about 3 minutes? :-)

I'll be on the Flex3 purchase page hitting refresh Sunday night around midnight EST. Don't disappoint!

Erki: You can use any Verisign code signing certificate with AIR. Many developers use their existing Authenticode certificates.

Beta has been really stable for me...

I think I've had it crash like 3-4 times since it was first released like last August. (Of course, I run FB3 on a Mac.)

Regarding the log, I think you should do it in a fade to color. Maybe make the left side b&w and the right side color.

Or perhaps animate it so it pops-up black and fades into color.

How's about some Thermo and Director!? People have been really quiet about Thermo and I know Director is supposed to be coming out in March or so. I fully back the idea of Adobe deciding to do Adobe CS4: Developer Edition! (Please Ted?!)

Somehow I think the banner is going to turn into color when things are RELEASED!!!!

    :-)

I'm with one of the other anonymous posters...

What happened to Thermo? We heard about it, we all bought into it... and after the initial posting and tech preview, it disappeared...

As a guy who's just getting ready to drink the Kool-Aid and pick up a bunch of developer tools from Adobe, I wish I knew more about Thermo and if that were going to be the product I were looking for instead of the bundle I'm buying.
