Seems my Flash Player 9 counter has again fallen behind the real install numbers by some 200 Million installs, dohhhh. Emmy just sent me the statistics from Akamai for Flash Player 9 installations and it was 3.2 Billion on November 11, 2007. I will be updating the counter to match the real installation rates later today. So I have updated the counter 5 times now and every time the estimates are accelerating from prior rates which is a great sign for Flash Player.
I wonder if Silverlight 1.0 has 10 Million installs yet?
Reach more computers compatibly today with Flash Player 9, 3.2 Billion Installs and growing!

It would be great if you could create a Silverlight installs counter to go below the Flash player installs. You know, just for comparisons sake. Or would that be too insulting to MS? :-)
No doubt it's impressive how many people have Flash installed... and it helps my business. However, 3.2 billion is potentially deceptive as I really doubt that many computers have Flash installed. I'm probably above average in my download consumption--but I've downloaded Flash at least 50 times!
Anyway, yeah, Silverlight hasn't set the world on fire. But... what if they included it in an auto-update to the OS? I think they'd break 10 million.
I guess my point is that Flash is still currently better but only partially because half the world population has downloaded it.
There aren't even 3 billion internetworked computers on Earth...
Probably some people download 3 times for IE plugin, Mozilla plugin, Linux version...
Even then, 3 billion would mean EVERY internet user downloaded 3 times...
Something's wrong here...
