As a member of the Yahoo Maps team, Chuck Freedman helped deliver one of the first public facing Flex applications. Chuck just completed Yahoo! Maps MASHUPS by WROX and the book has gone on sale today. The book spans the AJAX/Flash/Flex APIs for Yahoo! Maps but more importantly has 6 chapters devoted to Flex 2. As Chuck puts it so elegantly, "Flex 2 was made for Mashups!". I received a signed edition of the book from Chuck yesterday and I am honored to have been part of the books review process.

If you are interested in Maps and Flex, there is only one book you will need.
Buy the book at Amazon
Congratulations Chuck. Job well done!
Ted :)

Thanks Ted! I hope you are enjoying the book and are having fun playing with Yahoo! Maps.
I wanted to let you know that the SOURCE CODE for the entire book, including code to use Y! Maps with Flex 2, is available at the book's companion site: www.mashupexperts.com
You can only guess as to what technology the companion site is built on! ;)
Once again, enjoy the book and have fun coding Y! Maps with Flex 2.
Cool! but when is Yahoo going to release a Yahoo! Maps Flex 2 API? The current version is for Flex 1.5, isn't it?
Sweet! Thanks Chuck. I went to add my mashup runningmap.com to the list there, and someone beat me to it :)
Runningmap.com integration into FLEX is on my Radar big time.
Those interested in a Flex 2 Y! Maps API, you have a collective voice. Someone created a suggestion queue here: http://suggestions.yahoo.com/detail/?prop=ydn&fid=3208
I can't say for sure, but I do hope someone is listening. So go vote and let your desire to have a true Flex 2 Maps API be heard. Together, we can change the world... or least how we add it to our Flex 2 applications.
Read the book and it is a great book and great reference for Yahoo Maps, I created my Mashup in here http://www.adsmap.net
