FLAw - Player Crash via preloading Shared Objects and createObject usage

DIGG IT!     2 Comments Published Tuesday, December 02, 2003 at 1:13 PM .

Extending Grant Skinner's FLAw series, I packaged up this example that crashed the F7 Player repeatedly. \0

In the example I am preloading a shared library to _level899 and unloading the level once components are instantiated. This example is repeatable and was built using the MX 2004 IDE 7.01 release. Crash details as follows:

1. Crash the FlashMX 2004 IDE - WIN XP
2. Crash the Standalone Flash 7 Player - Release Player
3. Crash the Standalone Flash 7 Player - 7,0,14,0 Player
4. Crash Internet Explorer running Flash 7,0,14,0 Player

If you want to crash your browser now, click here.

The example is fairly exotic AS, but since it crashes the browser repeatedly, I thought it should be reported.

Comments and Thought?

Cheers,

ted ;)

I can crash players too, through loading shared fonts from a library. This page seems to crash a lot of browsers, unless they download the very newest Flash Player from Adobe.
