IE ActiveX Hole and impact to Flash

DIGG IT!     0 Comments Published Friday, October 03, 2003 at 4:09 PM .

There is another serious hole in MSIE 5.01, 5.5, and 6.0. IE allows a Trojan installation of an ActiveX control. The recommended solution has users switching ActiveX to "prompt before running ActiveX controls", and that means Flash.

Google

I modified my system and it is really annoying, almost every page has Flash on it! Prompt, Prompt, Prompt, every web page.

Here is the quote from MS:

"You can help protect against this vulnerability by changing your settings for the Internet security zone to prompt before running ActiveX components," Microsoft said.

Terrible news for the business of Flash, the deployment of Flash, and recommending Flash to consulting clients.

Not good. Not good.

Ted ;(
